CHaSCI Social Work Grand Rounds: Advancing Learning, Collaboration, and Impact

Written By CHaSCI

At the Center for Health and Social Care Integration (CHaSCI), our Social Work Grand Rounds series brings together social workers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and community partners to explore emerging issues affecting health, aging, and social care. Hosted in partnership with Rush University, Social Work Grand Rounds provides a forum for evidence-informed learning, interdisciplinary dialogue, and the exchange of practical strategies that can improve care for individuals, families, and communities.

The intention of the series is to foster professional development, elevate innovative practices, and create space for critical conversations about the social, cultural, and structural factors that shape health and well-being. Through expert presentations and discussion, participants gain insights that can be applied across healthcare, community, and social service settings.  Social workers who attend our Social Work Grand Rounds live are eligible to receive 1 continuing education credit per webinar.

These webinars intentionally highlights topics at the intersection of health, social care, policy, and community well-being. Presentations often explore behavioral and mental health, health equity, aging, caregiving, trauma-informed practice, advocacy, and emerging interventions that impact vulnerable populations. Recent sessions have also examined broader societal issues, including incarceration, veteran mental health, disability benefits, cultural approaches to care, and nutrition, reflecting the complex realities that social workers encounter across healthcare and community settings.

By bringing these diverse topics together, Grand Rounds aims to help practitioners stay informed about evolving research, policy changes, and innovative practices while strengthening their ability to address the social determinants of health. The series encourages critical thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practical application of new knowledge, ultimately supporting social workers and allied professionals in delivering more equitable, person-centered, and effective care

Through these ongoing educational opportunities, CHaSCI continues to support learning, innovation, and collaboration among professionals dedicated to improving health and quality of life across diverse populations.
