CHaSCI and CSWH submit comments to CMS

On July 13, 2023, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) proposed changes to the Medicare Part B Physician Fee Schedule and other Medicare Part B issues. CMS invited comments on several components of this proposed legislation.

The Coalition for Social Work and Health (CSWH), a CHaSCI-convened collective dedicated to elevating and expanding social work’s impact in improving health and healthcare, submitted comments on the following topics of the proposed rule:

• Health Behavior Assessment and Intervention (HBAI) Services

• Community Health Integration (CHI) and Principal Illness Navigation (PIN)

• Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) Risk Assessment

• Caregiver Training Services

• Updates to the Hospice CoPs to Permit Mental Health Counselors or Marriage and Family Therapists to Serve as Members of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Group

• Advance Care Planning
